Request account deletion
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account and login details (email, authentication records).
- Your profile, display name, photo, bio, favourites and skill level.
- All of your catches, species, weight, length, technique, bait, lure, notes and dates.
- Your catch locations (GPS coordinates) and captured weather/conditions.
- Your catch and profile photos held in our private storage.
Delete some of your data (without deleting your account)
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. You can keep your FishIQ account
(developer: vox9 studios) and ask us to delete specific data instead.
- Email dmccuk@gmail.com from the
email address on your FishIQ account.
- Put "Delete some of my FishIQ data" in the subject line and tell us what to remove,
for example specific catches, your photos, your location history, or your profile details.
- We confirm it's your account and delete the requested data within 30 days
(usually much sooner), and reply to confirm. Your account stays active.
Request data deletion
Data you can ask us to delete individually includes: specific catches, catch or profile photos,
catch locations (GPS) and conditions, and profile details (display name, bio, favourites). Data needed
to keep your account working, such as your login email, is kept until you delete the whole account.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Backups: residual copies may remain in encrypted system backups for up to
30 days after deletion, after which they are overwritten.
- Records we are legally required to keep (for example, where needed to comply with
legal or accounting obligations) may be retained for the period required by law, then deleted.
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
